Music DirectorCornell Fields, MBA, CFP®
For Cornell, ministry has never been just one thing—it's music, it's teaching, it's finance, and above all, it's people. He has served as a minister of the gospel and minister of music since his college years, using both the pulpit and the piano to point people toward hope. That calling deepened through theological study at New Brunswick Theological Seminary and years spent leading congregations in vibrant worship.
Music has always been part of Cornell's story. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance and Music Education from William Paterson University, taught music at Princeton High School, and performed with jazz and gospel bands throughout the years—experiences that shaped how he connects with people, whether from a stage, a stand, or a chair across the desk.
That heart for people also led Cornell into financial planning. For nearly 20 years, he has helped individuals, families, business owners, and nonprofit organizations build, preserve, and transition wealth with confidence, serving clients at institutions including Merrill Lynch, Vanguard, and Fidelity. He holds an MBA and Master of Finance from Penn State University, along with the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designations and several other advanced credentials. He brings this same care to Financial Education Ministry initiatives, helping others find peace of mind around money the way he's helped others find strengthen their faith.
Outside of his calling, Cornell is grateful for his wife, Joy, his partner of 20 years, and their three children. He is passionate about empowering others through financial literacy, equipping people to make confident financial decisions, and serving his community.
